Here is a cool picture of a fly that I drew a while ago! Dunno why I didn't put it here sooner!

Handy Dandy Bio Resources!

Free to use and reliable as far as I am aware!

Insect Identification for the Casual Observer

insectidentification.org

Wanna identify a bug in North America? This website can probably help!

I most often use "Bugs listed by State/Province"

"Refine Results By Color" tends not to work for me sadly, but the "Quick Lists" work beautifully!

Bug Guide hosted by Iowa State University

bugguide.net

Not as quick to navigate as insectidentification.org for initially IDing a bug.

That said, it is a good website for double checking an identification!

This site has more robust information about each species of bug, and a wealth of beautiful pictures!

Biology Libretexts

bio.libretexts.org

Free textbooks on subjects like General Biology, Agriculture, Ecology and more.

The information is reliable, although sometimes the text can be dense or difficult. That may be more of an issue for the chemistry Libretexts, though.

The Libretext libraries are supported by the Department of Education Open Textbook Pilot Project, the UC Davis Office of the Provost, the UC Davis Library, the California State University Affordable Learning Solutions Program, and Merlot.

Biology 2e (2nd Edition) on Openstax

openstax.org/books/biology-2e

A free biology textbook, with some free studying software built in!

I used Openstax as my textbook in at least one biology course during my college education.

I find the writing a little easier to digest than some of the more difficult libretext pages.

OpenStax is part of Rice University, which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
